Day One

We depart from your home and join your coach for the journey Gloucester, thanks to its strategic position on the River Severn and close to the Welsh border, the city of Gloucester has a rich historic past stretching back to Roman times. At its heart stands the Norman Cathedral with its magnificent fan vaulted cloisters and great east window. A walk down narrow cobbled streets and past ancient buildings leads into the main pedestrianized shopping area, a short stroll away from the dramatic waterfront of the Victorian Docks with its impressive converted warehouses. We continue in the late afternoon to our hotel.

 

Day Two

After a leisurely breakfast we depart for a drive along the beautiful Wye Valley to the historic town of Monmouth. We continue from here to Symonds Yat where we enjoy a cruise on the River Wye following which we head for Ross-on-Wye with time for lunch. We return to Chepstow via the scenic route through the Forest of Dean.

 

Day Three

Today we visit the capital of Wales - Cardiff and a visit to Fagan's Castle & Museum of Welsh Life. St Fagan's is a Grade I listed building and one of the finest Elizabethan Manor Houses in Wales, beautiful garden displays surround the castle and traditional crafts and activities bring St Fagan's living museum alive. Free time this afternoon in Cardiff before we return to our hotel for dinner.

 

Day Four

Our excursion today is to the Brecon Beacons and some wonderful mountain scenery, we join the Brecon Mountain Railway for the journey along the Taf Feehan Reservoir to Dol-y-Caer route. There will be a short stop at Pontsticill to admire the views. We make stops at Brecon and Abergavenny before returning to our hotel.

Day Five

This morning we bid farewell and before our journey home with a lunch stop in Ludlow.
