Due to Calke Abbey informing us that that are not taking any group visits over May Bank Holiday we have had to adjust our itinerary and we will now be visiting Kedleston Hall

On this tour you will have the chance to delve deep into the past, with visits to Kedleston Hall & Chatsworth House, The National Memorial Arboretum & Bolsover Castle.

Day One
From your home pick-up you travel to Derby, arriving at our hotel with time to relax before dinner this· evening.
Day Two
After breakfast we travel to Chatsworth House, home to the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire, we have included admission to the house and 105 acres garden which features historic and modern waterworks and sculptures, Victorian rock garden and maze. This afternoon we visit Denby Pottery Village where you have time to explore at leisure before returning to your hotel for dinner.
Day Three
This morning we visit the National Memorial Arboretum, a 150 acre site which is home to over 330 thought provoking memorials covering both military and civilian associations along with tributes to individuals. Rich in design and symbolism and sympathetic to the lush gardens they inhabit, the memorials and their stories are fascinating. This afternoon we visit Kedleston Hall which is the seat of the Curzon family and has been owned by the family since the early 12th century, a neo-classical mansion framed by historic parkland.. Kedleston is one of the last great houses built in Derbyshire and remains one of the finest examples of its time, designed for lavish entertaining and displays an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and original furnishings and is a stunning example of the work of architect Robert Adam and is now owned by the National Trust. The Hall was used as a key location for the Hollywood blockbuster The Duchess starring Keira Knightley.
Day Four
Today we travel to Bolsover Castle, with spectacular views over Derbyshire, this fairy-tale Stuart Mansion was designed to entertain and impress. Wander the lavish rooms of the Little Castle, explore the romantic ruined terrace range and delight in the views from the wall walk. Afternoon is free for you to explore the local area.
Day Five
This morning we enjoy our final breakfast before we begin our journey home with comfort stops enroute.
HALLMARK DERBY MIDLAND HOTEL
The first purpose built railway hotel in the world, the Hallmark Derby Midland is an essential part of the fabric of a city that is one of the birthplaces of the industrial revolution. All rooms feature TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The Hotel has a lounge, bar and restaurant.

This morning we visit the National Memorial Arboretum, a 150 acre site which is home to over 330 thought provoking memorials covering both military and civilian associations along with tributes to individuals. Rich in design and symbolism and sympathetic to the lush gardens they inhabit, the memorials and their stories are fascinating. This afternoon we visit Calke Abbey, the house where time stood still, vividly portraying a period in the 20th century when many country houses did not survive to tell their story. Rather than restoring Calke to its former glory, they have undertaken necessary repairs to halt the decay of the house and its collections. As you wander through the mansion, you will discover abandoned rooms, peeling wallpaper and a vast collection of strange and unique objects presented exactly how they were found.
B, DDay Four
Today we travel to Bolsover Castle, with spectacular views over Derbyshire, this fairy-tale Stuart Mansion was designed to entertain and impress.
