Lake Maggiore situated in the north west of Italy crosses the border into Switzerland, our esort of Verbania is described as 'A Garden on the Lake' located on the shores of the Barromean Gulf. Around the lake you will find olve, lemon and bay groves and the many gardens flourish in the perfect climate.

After breakfast our guide will take us on a morning tour of Stresa, which is sprinkled with villas, grand hotels and parks and has a beautiful lakeside promenade with magnificent views over the lake, the afternoon is at leisure to explore further. The centre of Stresa has agood selection of cafes, traditional souvenir shops and boutiques. There is a cable car up Monte Mottarone with fantastic views over the lake to the Alps and beyond.B, D
This morning we drive to the Franciacorta wine area to visit the gardens of Quistini Castle. A 16th century residence, unique and filled with history, it is particularly famous for its enchanting and romantic park which offers more than 500 varieties of roses, hidden green corners and a secret hydrangea garden. We continue to the stunning Villa Visconti Borromeo Litta, known for its monumental nymphaeum and a series of symmetrically located rooms where the art collection of the family was displayed to welcome their guests.B, D
Today we take short boat ride to the Barromean Islands with admission to the Palace, the monumental Baroque palace and the majestic and scenic gadens have made the islands famous. The gardens contain many rare and exotic plants and the spectacular blossoming is planned to ensure that it is filled with colours and scents from March to October, afternoon at leisure in Stresa.B, D
After breakfast this morning we take a scenic drive into Switzerland to the town of Lugano which lies on the northern side of Lake Lugano and is surrounded by mountains offering splendid viewpoints. The traffic free historic town centre with its Mediterranean style squares and arcades invite you to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the delightful town. After lunch we continue our scenic tour to Locarno where we will have plentyt of free time to wandre the narrow lanes of the Old Town which all lead to the Piazza Grande. The 12th century Castle and the Church of Madonna del Sasso are two of the many sights the town has to offer visitors.B, D

This morning we depart on our excursion to Lake Orta, the lake that most tourists have not yet discovered. The stunningly beautiful views of the lake with the glistening silver blue of the lake water contrasting with the backdrop of mountains, gives the place an eerie silence which is relaxing and enchanting. We continue to the town of Arona which enjoys a lovely climate and faces the splendid Lake Maggiore. The town is also known for the San Carlone statue deducated to San CArlo Borromeo, second only in size to the Statue of LIberty in New York.B, D
Today we lealve Stresa, our local coach will transfer us to the airport for our return flight back to UK and your door to door service home.B
