Stretching the width of south western France, from the wind scuffed surf of the Atlantic to the gentle drift of the mediterranean, the Pyrenees form a magnificent backdrop of mountains some 400 km long and they act as the natural frontier between France and Spain

DAY ONE

Your door to door service will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Spain, a local coach will transfer you to the Hotel Maritim, your base for the next 7 nights.

DAY TWO

After breakfast this morning we depart on a trip to the Cape de Creus Nature Park on the local tractor train, the Roses Express. The cultural tourist train offers a unique way of travelling with marvellous panoramic views over the Bay of Roses and Nature Park, the afternoon is at leisure to explore the hotel and surroundings.

DAY THREE

This morning we drive to Villefranche de Confluent, in France recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After time at leisure we enjoy a trip on the Little Yellow Train to Font Romeu. One of the great railway journeys of the world, this historic metre-guage electric railway rises through dramatic scenery, hugging the sides of the deep Tet Valley, winding between forests, chasms and gushing streams. We meet the coach at the other end and return to Roses.

Day at leisure today to relax or explore the resort

DAY FIVE

Today we enjoy an excursion on the rack railway to Sanctuary of Muria, located in the EAstern Pyrenees, Vall de Muria is a mountain resort with a unique landscape, it sits above one of the highest points of the Ribes Valley and is surrounded by peaks of almost 3,000m from which flow a multitude of water sources and torrents. From you seat on the rack railway you will see breath-taking scenery during the 12.5km journey over an incline of more than 1,000m. There will be free time at the Sanctuary before taking the return train back down the mountain.

DAY SIX

This morning we return to France to take the TPCF Rouge from Rivesaltes to Caudies de Fenouilledes. Then following a quick train change we take the open-top train to Axat. Part of this historic railway has been in existance since 1901, the journey takes us on a lively ride through the Pays Cathare and Fenouilledes from the mountains to the sea. Free time in Axat before we return to Roses in time for dinner.

DAY SEVEN

After breakfast this morning we depart on our excursion to Figueres for an included visit to the Dali Museum, built by Salvador Dali, the museum's collection allows visitors a thought provoking insights into Dali's unique and captivating world. You will have some free time to explore the town of Figueres. Like most traditional Spanish towns, Figueres is made up of a central Old Town, where the majority of the towns cultural attractions can be found. There is also a typical 'La Rambla' central avenue which can be found at the heart of the shopping zone and links the old quarter with the newer parts of the town. We return to Roses and the afternoon is at leisure.

DAY NINE

Today we depart Roses, our local coach will transfer us to the airport for our return flight back to the UK and your door to door service home.
