After a hearty Scottish breakfast, we begin our drive through the stunning and scenic Cairngorm National Park, Britain's largest mountain range. We arrive in time for dinner at the Royal Hotel in Thurso.

Day Three

We enjoy free time in Thurso before our ferry crossing to the mystical Orkney Isles. We meet our local guide who will be with us throughout our visit to the island. We will visit the Italian Chapel 'the miracle of camp 60' that was built by Italian prisoners during World War II followed by the mystical ancient settlement of Skara Brae, uncovered by a storm in 1850. The ancient settle is older than Stonehenge and provides a unique insight into pre-historic living. Our tour continues with a visit to Skaill House, one of Orkney's top tourist attractions and the finest mansion on the island steeped in 5,000 years of history. We finish our time in Orkney at Kirkwall where dinner is provided at a local restaurant, after dinner, we board our overnight ferry to the Shetland Islands.

This afternoon we make our way to Scalloway Castle and Museum, dating from 1600 the castle is the former home to Earl Stewart.
