Narberth   |   St David’s   |   Cardigan Castle   |   Aberaeron   |   Llanerchaeron   |   Christmas Dinner   |   New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner   |   Drinks Special Offer

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel through beautiful countryside to Cardigan Bay.  On arrival we enjoy a mulled wine and mince pies, whilst your luggage is taken to you room. Time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Narberth & St David’s

This morning we head to Narberth, a gorgeous little market town in the east of Pembrokeshire. Multicoloured Edwardian and Georgian buildings line the high street which has developed quite a reputation as a shopper’s heaven. Independent shops selling a whole range of exquisite items from fine art to fine food rub shoulders with vintage and antique shops. With award winning cafés and pubs as well as restaurants you’ll find a great place for lunch.

After lunch we’ll travel the short distance to discover Britain's smallest city. St David’s is the smallest city in Britain and has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries. The 12th century St David’s Cathedral, built on the site of a much older religious buildings, is the reason for little St David’s outsize city status. Constructed from dusky purple sandstone, it is one of Wales’ most iconic religious sites and sits tucked away in a sheltered vale beside the River Alun. Here you can learn about the history of St Davids, as well as visit the impressive Treasury collection.

We return to our hotel to enjoy a Christmas Day dinner this evening.

DAY THREE – Cardigan Castle

Today we visit Cardigan Castle.  It isn’t your typical fortress experience. Enjoy the splendour of the Georgian mansion, where you can unlock the story of the Castle, the people who lived there, and find out how it became the birthplace of Wales’ biggest cultural festival, the Eisteddfod. Explore the medieval walls and seek out the castle remains; visit the exhibitions focusing on its history and that of the surrounding area.  The incredible gardens are worth a stroll around, along winding pathways in stunning regency style.

We then have a leisurely drive back to our hotel where you have time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY FOUR – Aberaeron & Llanerchaeron

We’ll make our way north today a little way to visit the enchanting Aberaeron on the Ceredigion coast. The first thing most people see when they approach Aberaeron are the charming, colourful houses adorning the town like jewels. Here's a place to relax - mooching around the harbour, exploring the independent shops and craft centres and enjoying a homemade cake and cuppa. The town is right on the Wales Coast Path and The Coastal Way. Ceredigion's coast is also well-known for wildlife including the famous Cardigan Bay bottlenose dolphin pods.

We’ll then visit Llanerchaeron, a traditional welsh estate with a villa, servants' quarters, stables, farm buildings and walled garden, set in a landscape which is both beautiful and productive. The villa is a complete example of the early work of John Nash. John Nash was employed as the architect and work started in the 1790s to the house. It was transformed, under Nash’s vision, from a small farmhouse into the elegant villa that you see today. It has its own service courtyard with dairy, laundry, brewery and salting house, giving a full 'upstairs, downstairs' experience.

We then return to our hotel with time to relax before our New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner this evening.
