Highlights

Walking Tour of Waterford   |   House of Waterford Crystal   |   Waterford & Suir Valley Railway   |   Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience   |   Kilkenny   |   Nicholas Mosse Pottery Mill   |   Smithwicks Brewery

Day One

We depart from your home with our exclusive door to door pick-up service, join your tour coach and travel to Holyhead for our crossing to Dublin, disembark and continue our journey to Waterford, time to relax before dinner.

Dat Two

This morning we enjoy a guided walking tour of Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland, we visit the world-famous House of Waterford Crystal for a guided factory tour.  There is free time to explore the city’s cultural and heritage quarter including the ‘Viking Triangle’ that contains three magnificent museums – Medieval, Bishops Palace and Reginald’s Tower.

Day Three

Something a little different today as we take a ride on the delightful Waterford & Suir Valley Railway along the picturesque banks of the River Suir.  Afterwards we visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience, an authentic reproduction of the ‘Dunbrody’ – an 1840’s emigrant vessel.  A guided tour led by costumed performers provides a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude of the Irish people faced with a great famine.

Day Four

A full day to explore the medieval city of Kilkenny including Kilkenny Castle and the imposing 13th century St Canice’s Cathedral.  After lunch we visit Smithwick’s brewery for a guided tour showing the production process for one of Ireland’s most popular beers.  Returning to our hotel we call in at the Nicholas Mosse Pottery Mill to see the potters and decorators at work and perhaps a chance to buy locally-made souvenirs.

Day Five

This morning we must bid farewell to our Irish hosts and begin our journey back to Dublin for our crossing to Holyhead and home.
