Lakeside Scenic Tour | Enniskillen | Florence Court | Lough Erne Sunset Dinner Cruise | Ulster American Folk Park | Belleek Pottery
We depart from your own front door, join your tour coach for the journey to Holyhead and our sea crossing to Ireland, arriving at our hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Today we will start with a lakeside drive to Belleek, the home of Irelands oldest pottery Belleek Pottery established in 1857, it holds a very special place in the cultural and commercial heritage of County Fermanagh. We continue to Bundoran and then on to Drumcliffe, where Irelands famous poet WB Yeats is buried, we return to the hotel via the Glencar Valley.
After a relaxing breakfast we depart for the Ulster American Folk Park, one of the countrys most impressive Museums which brings back to life, with costumed re-enactments, themed exhibits and traditional crafts, the powerful story of the Irish people who left the thatched cottages of Ireland to travel to North America in search of a better life.
A fabulous evening awaits with a sunset dinner cruise on the peaceful waters of Lough Erne. Please Note: if cruise is cancelled through inclement weather, they will try to arrange an alternative day, but this is subject to availability, otherwise dinner will be served in the hotel.
We spend the morning exploring Enniskillen, built on a natural island at the midpoint of Lough Erne, the largest of the Fermanagh lakes. This attractive waterside setting bustles with boats in the summer and has many lively pubs and restaurants. Visit the prominent 16th century castle, home to the Royal Fusiliers which contains an impressive regimental museum, make time to visit the Buttermarket, a restored dairy market from the early 1800s with a range of Irish craft workshops, studios, and galleries.
After lunch we continue our tour past Lough Melvin and Lough MacNean to Florence Court, once of Irelands greatest 18th century houses set in a historic landscaped park set beneath the Cuilcagh Mountains.
After breakfast we begin our journey back to Dublin and our crossing to Holyhead and home.
