Kinsale, Killarney & Kissing the Blarney

KINSALE, KILLARNEY & KISSING THE BLARNEY

A tour which allows us to explore the highlights of both Cork and Kerry, kissing the legendary Blarney Stone, ride around Killarney National Park in a horse-drawn jaunting car and follow the Wild Atlantic Way to beautiful Bantry, taking in the warmth and spirit of this lovely corner of Ireland on the way!

ORIEL HOUSE HOTEL, Cork

Located just a short walk from Ballincollig town centre and the west side of Cork, Oriel House has 99 comfortable bedrooms which are finished to a high standard and well-equipped with hairdryer, Tv and tea/coffee making facilities.  The restaurant is stylish and contemporary, the hotel also has a relaxing bar and outdoor covered courtyard to relax in at night.  The hotel also boasts a 25m indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym.

DAY ONE:

Early pick-up from home before joining your tour coach for the journey to Holyhead and our crossing to Dublin, after disembarking we continue to Cork and our hotel.  Welcome tea/coffee on arrival whilst your luggage is taken to your room, time to relax before dinner.

DAY TWO:

We begin our day at Blarney Castle, built nearly 600 years ago, since then millions have visited the castle in order to ‘kiss’ the legendary Blarney Stone to gain the gift of eloquence.  The grounds of the castle are incredibly beautiful and believe by some to have a genuinely mystical quality.  We also have time to visit the Blarney Woollen Mills which are within walking distance of the castle and known as the largest Irish store in the world.  From here we make our way to the picturesque town of Kinsale, known as the gourmet capital of Ireland, free time here to obtain lunch before we enjoy a 1 hour guided walking tour of the historic port and town, where we learn of its links to Robinson Crusoe, polar explorers and pirates!

DAY THREE:

This morning we combine a craft brewery visit with a jaunting car ramble through the magnificent scenery of Killarney National Park.  We enjoy a guided tour of the Killarney Brewing Company and sample the hand crafted beers before our tour continues with a jaunting car ride through the beautiful Killarney National Park to Ross Castle, rest of the day at leisure in Killarney town centre.

DAY FOUR:

For our excursion this morning we travel along parts of the scenic route of the Wild Atlantic Way to Bantry, we visit Bantry House & Garden, a family home for the past 300 years.  We explore the house and stunning formal gardens at our leisure before perhaps par-taking of a homemade lunch in the tearoom (lunch not included in cost).  We spend the rest of the day exploring the stunning bay of Bantry with its semi-tropical flowers, palm trees & mountain ridges.

DAY FIVE:

After a leisurely breakfast we must bid farewell to our hosts and begin our journey back to Dublin for our crossing to Holyhead and home.
