DAY ONE

We depart from your home and join your tour coach and travel north to Scotland with comfort stops enroute.  Arrive at your hotel late afternoon where you will be greeted with tea/coffee & shortbread, time to relax before dinner.

DAY TWO

We have a leisurely morning exploring the Highland capital, Inverness with its riverside walks, modern shopping mall and eateries.  We then continue to Loch Ness where we board your ‘Nessie’ cruiser for a sail on the world most famous loch.  There were 8 sightings of Nessie in 2017, so have your camera at the ready!!  See the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle before returning along the Lochside.

DAY THREE

Today’s excursion takes us to the North West Highland region, blessed with natural beauty.  Westwards along the shoreline of Loch Maree, regarded as one of the most scenically attractive areas in Scotland, little has changed in over 8,000 years.  It is Scotland’s fourth largest loch with 66 islands.  As the journey from Gairloch continues coastal scenery prevails hugging the coastline to Ullapool, free time before heading back inland passing many lochs and mountain ranges.

DAY FOUR

We travel to the area surrounding Inverness which is full of history; it is near here at Culloden the battle on British soil was fought in 1746, ending the claim to the throne of Bonnie Prince Charlie.  Entry is included into the informative visitor centre and battlefield.  Afterwards delve back into the 14th century visiting the extraordinary Castle of Cawdor, linked to Shakespeare’s Macbeth.  The castle has been lovingly filled with beautiful furniture and portraits, intriguing objects and amazing tapestries.  Free time to roam Cawdor’s three well laid out gardens and pathways, before returning via Bairn on the Moray Coast.
