DAY ONE - Arrival

We depart from your home and travel north to the Lake District, and the Riverside Hotel on the banks of the River Kent in the market town of Kendal where a welcome tea/coffee await you whilst your luggage is taken to your room.

 

DAY TWO – Lake District Scenic Tour

Today we’ll have a gentle sightseeing tour of the Lake District, from Kendal following the stunning lakes and scenery to Ullswater, Keswick, Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere.

 

We’ll return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY THREE – Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway

We start our day at the historic Muncaster Castle with a guided tour, then enjoy lunch ahead of the afternoon return journey on the wonderful Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway. From the Lake District coastal town of Ravenglass, we travel across the estuary and through the hills to arrive at Dalegarth station, where mulled wine and mince pies await!

 

DAY FOUR – Morecombe

Today we visit the coastal town of Morecombe, located on the southern coast of Morecombe Bay. It may be December but there are many pleasures still to be had in this seaside destination.  Stroll along the promenade, visit the Eric Morecombe Statue, and the Tern Project, a series of public art installations inspired by the birdlife of Morecombe Bay, or just sit and watch the world go by, or maybe pick up some special Christmas gifts.

There’s also the 1930s Midland Hotel. The lovingly restored art deco masterpiece is the perfect place for tea overlooking the panorama of the Bay.

 

DAY FIVE - Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast we depart out hotel and make our journey home.

THE RIVERSIDE HOTEL, Kendal

The Riverside Hotel, a converted 18th century tannery set on five floors, is situated on the banks of the River Kent in Kendal beneath the ruins of the town’s 12th century castle. A short walk away is the centre of this famous market town with its bustling shops, galleries and museums.
