HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Hutton-le-Hole   |   Robin Hood’s Bay   |    York   |   Scarborough   |   Christmas Themed Break

DAY ONE - Arrival

We depart from your home and travel north to Whitby with comfort stops en route. A welcome tea/coffee or mulled wine and mince pies awaits you on arrival.

DAY TWO – Hutton-le-Hole & Robin Hood’s Bay

This morning we’ll head for the Vale of York, learning about life in Yorkshire as you pass through the villages of Strensall, Sheriff Hutton and Hovingham.  We’ll then stop in Hutton-le-Hole, where you can wander amongst the traditional stone-built houses and sheep roaming on the village common land, or just have a leisurely Yorkshire Brew in one of the cafes.

We’ll then head back out to the coast to visit Robin Hood’s Bay, a picturesque old fishing village on the Heritage Coast of the North York Moors. Wandering through its narrow, twisting cobbled streets and alleyways, you can easily imagine the sailors and fishermen, smugglers and press gangs that walked these streets hundreds of years ago. Today it is a vibrant village, with a wide range of cafes, pubs, restaurants, small shops and places to explore.

We enjoy a Festive Christmas Dinner today with all the trimmings, and a glass of wine.

DAY THREE - York

Today we visit York with its rich history and many museums, such as the Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Museum telling of 300 years of railway history, and the Chocolate Story which tells of the many famous sweet brands associated with the city. York Minster’s impressive Gothic architecture dominates the city as one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe, and The Shambles are always worth a visit, with its over-hanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts. Browse York’s many shops, from high street favourites to quirky and independent boutiques, along with excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants.

DAY FOUR - Scarborough

We travel today along the coast to Scarborough, Britain’s oldest and original seaside resort. Enjoy the sandy beaches, visit the Sea Life sanctuary, or explore the 12th century castle. Did you know that the town is home to one of the first purpose-built museums in the world? The Rotunda tells the incredible story of our natural history and the rich fossil-finds on offer across the Yorkshire Coast.

DAY FIVE - Departure

After a leisurely breakfast we make our way home with comfort stops en route.
