We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our valued and regular customer, Kay Parry, for her lovely review of her experience on our Kynren - An Epic Tale of England holiday on 2nd-5th August. Kay’s kind words and continued support mean the world to us. Read about her experience below!
Have you heard of Kynren? If not, you’re in for a treat. This spectacular live-action show is tucked away in the northeast of England, and it’s rapidly becoming a must-see event for history enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike. I first stumbled across it on a Robson Green programme and was instantly captivated. Intrigued? Read on to uncover why Kynren should be at the top of your travel list.
An Unforgettable Experience
Kynren is not just a show; it’s an immersive experience that takes you on a breathtaking 2,000-year journey through history. Set against the stunning backdrop of Bishop Auckland, the show brings history to life in ways you could never imagine. Picture a castle magically appearing to set the stage, complete with dazzling graphics that enhance each scene.
One of my favourite moments was when a house dramatically turned to reveal the legendary scene where Arthur pulls the sword from the stone to become a knight of the round table. The use of what appears to be a lake adds an extra layer of wonderment. And let's not forget the animals! With horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and geese, plus a cast of about one thousand performers of all ages, the spectacle is nothing short of epic.
Action, Adventure, and Awe
Kynren is packed with action and adventure, featuring everything from thrilling jousts to incredibly fast horse riding. But don't worry—I'm not here to spoil all the surprises; this is something you truly have to witness in person to appreciate fully. And just when you think the excitement is over, the grand finale of fireworks leaves you awe-struck.
A Journey with Jones Holidays
Travelling alone? No problem. With Jones Holidays, you're never really alone. I’ve travelled with them countless times and always found their service to be exceptional. From the moment you book, their friendly staff is ready to assist with any questions. You’re greeted with a smile as you board the mini-bus that takes you to the main coach, where your holiday truly begins.
The drivers are not only guides but also become friends by the end of the trip. You’ll find yourself chatting with fellow passengers and making new friends along the way. They take care of everything, from your luggage to meal timings, ensuring you can focus on enjoying your trip.
Why You Can’t Miss It
Since returning from Kynren, I've raved about it to everyone I know. Even Sarah Davies from Dragons' Den was present this year, filming for the One Show to promote the event. Her mother participated in the first show back in 2016, and the cast is comprised entirely of enthusiastic local volunteers from Bishop Auckland.
Before the show, you can explore a fascinating Viking village mock-up, adding another layer of intrigue to your visit. The organisation of the event is superb, with seamless arrivals and departures, and a warm welcome from everyone involved.
A Unique Experience for All
Kynren is a unique spectacle that mesmerises everyone who sees it. If you decide to go (and you should!), I highly recommend bringing a cushion for added comfort during the show. Trust me; you'll be glad you did. 😉
Whether you're a seasoned traveller or looking for your next big adventure, Kynren offers an unforgettable experience that perfectly mixes history, entertainment, and community spirit. Check it out on our website for more events like this, and prepare to be amazed!
